Revered Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, has commissioned a newly constructed hand pump borehole at Dunyokorpe in Afife.
The project was generously sponsored by Meaningful Life, a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to improving access to safe drinking water across the Municipality.
The borehole forms part of the NGO’s pledge to provide five boreholes to selected communities in the Ketu North Municipality.
So far, two have been successfully completed at Afife Dzigbokorpe and Dunyokorpe while an earlier attempt at Torvi was unfortunately unsuccessful due to geological challenges.
The NGO emphasized the importance of ensuring access to safe and clean drinking water for the people.
Rev. Amenaki, who joined the people of Dunyokorpe for the official commissioning, expressed profound appreciation to Meaningful Life for their continued partnership and commitment to improving living standards in rural communities.

He noted that the project would bring much needed relief to residents, particularly women and children, who often travelled long distances in search of potable water.
“Access to clean and safe water is a fundamental human right. This intervention by Meaningful Life is not just a social investment. It is an act of compassion that will directly improve health outcomes, support sanitation, and restore dignity to many households,” Rev. Amenaki said.
He recalled that a similar facility was commissioned by the NGO two weeks ago at Afife Dzigbokorpe, noting that such community centered initiatives complemented the government’s broader efforts to ensure universal access to clean water under the Water for All agenda.
The MCE also encouraged other development partners and benevolent organisations to emulate Meaningful Life’s example by supporting rural infrastructure projects that addressed pressing community needs such as water, sanitation, health, and education.
The event was attended by traditional leaders, assembly members, officials from the Municipal Assembly, and representatives of Meaningful Life.
Some community members who spoke with the GNA, expressed deep gratitude to the NGO and the Assembly for their collaboration, describing the borehole as “a life-changing gift.”
Rev. Amenaki reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to sustaining such partnerships, assuring residents that measures would be put in place to ensure the proper maintenance and management of the facility for long-term benefit.
