Former President Akufo Addo has recounted his relationship with the Founder of Kantaka Automobiles, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, following his demise on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Earlier today, President Mahama accompanied by the Minority Leader and MP for Effutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the former Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and some former appointees of the NPP consoled with the family of Apostle Kwadwo Safo at his residence in Taifa, Accra.
”My first direct contact with Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantaka was a professional one”, President Akufo Addo reencountered.
”I became his lawyer after, in his customary manner, a thorough search for effective legal representation for his Church and himself was made by him”, the Former President noted.
He said, ”over time, my relationship with him transcended the boundaries of legal representation and became personal”, according to Nana Akufo Addo.
He described the late Apostle as ”Industrious, innovative, and generous”.

Such were the ever-present markers of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantaka that we have all come to know and appreciate. The support of his Kristo Asafo Mission for me personally, and for the New Patriotic Party, remains invaluable and cannot be forgotten”, Former President Akufo Addo reencountered.
Nana Akufo Addo said, even in his period of infirmity, Apostle Safo remained a cherished associate and friend.
He said, even in this moment of his sad passing, ”Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantaka, a gracious, humorous, elegant, handsome leader, who, like Da Vinci’s scientific association with the Catholic Church, stove manfully to bridge the gap between the modern church and scientific and technological innovation, within the complexities of his hallowed office”.
Nana Akufo Addo conveyed condolences to the family and the church family, as well as his children, especially the former Gender Minister, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
”I convey my condolences to his daughter, the former Minister for Gender and Social Protection, former Deputy Majority leader and former Member of Parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo, all his other children, and his entire family, and may he find rest in the Bosom of the Almighty until the Last Day of the Resurrection, when we shall all meet again”, he concluded.
