Angel Asiamah has taken over the pulpit following the sentencing of his wife, popular evangelist and former traditional priestess, Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Agradaa, who was handed a 15-year prison sentence earlier this week.
During a live Sunday service streamed on Facebook via Today’s TV Live, Angel Asiamah encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast, declaring, “By this time next week, the Lord will have spoken” concerning his wife’s situation. His remarks were met with cheers from members of the congregation, who joined him in fervent prayer for divine intervention.
The live service, which attracted over 2,500 viewers online, has sparked significant public interest, with many Ghanaians closely following developments in Agradaa’s case. Social media platforms have been abuzz with discussions, with some users expressing sympathy while others have criticised the family’s handling of issues within their ministry.
Agradaa, who transitioned from traditional priesthood to Christianity and became an evangelist, was recently sentenced after being found guilty of defrauding members of her church in a case that has drawn national attention. Her husband, Angel Asiamah, has stepped into the leadership role to continue services at the church while legal proceedings and possible appeals continue.
During the live broadcast, donation numbers were displayed on the screen as viewers were encouraged to support the ministry financially, a practice that has been a regular feature of the church’s online services.
As the case continues to generate debate, many are waiting to see what the next steps will be for Angel Asiamah and the church in the coming weeks, especially in light of his faith declaration that divine intervention will occur within the week.
