Former President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended a commendation to President John Dramani Mahama for declaring July 1, 2025, as the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.
During a courtesy visit by the Planning Committee at his residence, Akufo-Addo described the initiative as a timely and unifying effort that deserves the support of all Ghanaians, transcending political and religious divides.
He emphasized the importance of national unity, peace, and civility, highlighting Ghana’s remarkable stability amidst regional turbulence.
Despite having prior commitments that will take him out of the country on the day, Akufo-Addo pledged his full support for the event and its long-term vision.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, expressed gratitude for the former President’s endorsement, noting that Akufo-Addo commended the Committee’s work and thanked President Mahama for the initiative.
