Alihaji Abdul wahid Zulkifill, Chief Imam at Sekondi, has called on Muslim communities to reaffirm their faith with Allah and live in peace with all as they observe the Eid-ul-Adha festival.
He made the call at the Eid prayers at Sekondi Methodist School Park to Climax this year’s Eid-Ul-Adha celebration.
Alhaji Zulkifill, said the Islamic religion was centred on total commitment to Allah and humanity, therefore the need to live a life that pleased Allah.
He urged them to commit to the giving of alms by showing love to fellow Muslims in their communities as well as others with different religious beliefs.
He encouraged all present to use any animal of their choice to make sacrifices in their homes as Abraham did and share among themselves as a sign of service and love.
Mr Suleman Gipo, who participated in the Eid prayers, experienced gratitude to Allah for making the day possible and hoped for a fruitful new year and a fresh start as they continued to stay committed to Allah.
Others expressed their excitement for the celebration and hoped to have a wonderful time with family and friends.
Eid-Ul-Adha also known as the festival of sacrifice is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the holy sacrifice offered by Abraham to God.
