The legal team representing Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has confirmed that the required sureties for his release have been secured following his recent arrest.
Speaking to Joy News, lead counsel Appiah Kubi disclosed that all necessary documentation had been completed to facilitate Wontumi’s bail. He expressed appreciation for the support received from key figures within the party, particularly Minister of Agriculture Bryan Acheampong.
“We’ve successfully secured the sureties, and we are grateful to Hon. Bryan Acheampong for stepping in to help file documents that even exceeded the amount needed,” Appiah Kubi stated.
Chairman Wontumi, who serves as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was reportedly arrested under circumstances that remain the subject of public and political interest. While details of the charges have not been officially disclosed, his arrest has drawn reactions from party members and the public alike.
The support from Bryan Acheampong, a prominent government official and party stalwart, is seen as a strong signal of solidarity within the NPP ranks as the party navigates the fallout from the incident.
