The Cyber Security Authority, CSA says it is working closely with X and other relevant stakeholders to address the reported hacking of President Mahama’s X account and to prevent future occurrences. In a statement, the CSA said it received a report in the early hours of Monday, March 17 concerning the compromise of the President’s X, formerly Twitter account; @JDMahama, which is being used to promote a cryptocurrency called Solana Africa.
The statement says the CSA understands the public concern, this incident has generated and is actively addressing the situation.
In a statement released on March 18, 2025, the CSA reported that the breach occurred in the early hours of March 17. The hackers used the president’s account to push Solana Africa, raising concerns about the platform’s security and the broader implications for political figures’ online safety.
