The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has called for stronger Ghana-EU collaboration to create more opportunities for filmmakers and young creative talents through co-productions, training, professional exchanges, technology transfer and access to international markets.

Speaking at the opening of the EU Film Festival – Ghana 2026 in Accra, the Minister described film as a powerful tool for storytelling, preserving cultural memories and connecting people across cultures.
EU Ambassador to Ghana, Rune Skinnebach, said the festival goes beyond film screenings, serving as a platform for dialogue, peace, tolerance, inclusion and cultural exchange, while creating opportunities for Ghanaian and European filmmakers to collaborate and develop stories that cross borders.
The festival further strengthens the cultural ties between Ghana and the European Union and opens new opportunities for Ghana’s growing film industry and creative talents.
