The Assemblies of God, Ghana, has joined the nation in mourning the tragic loss of the Defence Minister, Dr. Omane Boamah; the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Murtala Mohamed; and six other national heroes who perished in the helicopter crash. In an official statement, the Church described the circumstances surrounding their deaths as heart-breaking, serving as a sobering reminder of human fragility and the fleeting nature of life. The Church emphasized the urgent need for increased prayer as individuals, the church and a nation at large.

The statement said during the first Assemblies of God Pastors and Spouses Prayer Retreat, a dedicated time was set aside to intercede for the bereaved families and the nation.

The statement conveyed deep condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the government, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the grieving families affected by this immeasurable loss.

It further acknowledged that the sense of national unity sparked by this tragedy must continue to bind Ghanaians together, transcending political divides, and religious affiliation. In addition, the Church proposed the establishment of support schemes and recognition packages for the dependents of the eight fallen patriots, in honor of the ultimate sacrifice they made and their outstanding service to the nation.
