Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu is set to resume mediation efforts between the two feuding factions in the ongoing Bawku conflict this week.
This follows assurance by President John Mahama that the peace process led by the Asantehene will continue as part of national efforts to restore calm in the troubled region.
In a statement from his office last week, Asantehene confirmed that the mediation sessions will take place from today till Thursday at his palace in Kumasi to resolve the Bawku disturbances. Our sources tell us that guests are expected to arrive today so discussions can begin tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a number of Individuals and organizations are calling for a halt to the Bawku conflict which has been ongoing for years, hindering developmental efforts in the area.
