Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has addressed the first Annual National Forum on Women in Government and Media, held under the theme “Leadership, Visibility and Public Trust.”

She touched on the importance of coming together to reflect on our own journeys and to think of the many women who look to us as examples. I reminded participants that every woman is a leader in her own right, and that sometimes leadership begins simply by being a listening ear or a source of encouragement.
Visibility in the media shapes power and influences narratives, while leadership carries responsibility. Women in journalism and public office hold significant influence in shaping public discourse, standards, and accountability. The media, in many ways, is a classroom for society, capable of elevating credible voices and setting meaningful standards.
”Women must have faith in their abilities, the institutions that accommodate women in decision-making spaces are stronger and more impactful, and the women stepping into public office and journalism must recognize their roles in strengthening democratic governance”, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang noted”.
